About the Artist
Jill Winstanley is a self-taught artist. Being born and raised on Vancouver Island has definitely inspired her creativity and kept her in awe of all the little wonders nature gives us. She has always loved to draw and paint, and in 2003, decided to embark on the adventure of full-time artist.
Running out of things to paint is never a problem. All she has to do is step out her door and there is inspiration everywhere. It is always the way the light catches objects that grabs her attention first. She paints things that make her heart smile and hold her breathless. It may be a tiny spider holding fast her small territory or a winter storm churning up aqua waves and seafoam on the beach.
She tries to paint the beautiful things that we tend to overlook in the daily hustle and bustle of life. Being able to capture the small details that make the moment unique is important to her.
Her only hope is that other people get as much enjoyment out of her paintings as she does.
