About the Artist
Born in Romania, in a walled city filled with ancient buildings, Camelia Stancu attended the School of Art in her hometown and later she continued her education at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest.
From 1979 she has been participating to several solo and group exhibition in Romania, Israel, France and Canada.
Camelia paintings, mixed media, oil, watercoulor, ink and pastel, are abstract or surreal in style. Columns, castle walls and intricate windows pop up in unexpected landscapes melding a baroque costumed woman with neoclassic architecture, figures dancing through time and space, dream and realty.
